Wally was supposedly modeled after Connelly’s oldest son Jay while Beaver was based on his eight-year-old son Ricky. An all-American boy (Cameron Finley) grows up in suburban Ohio under the tutelage of loving parents (Christopher McDonald, Janine Turner) and an older. Unfortunately Leave It to Beaver is no longer available to stream on Netflix USA. Leave It to Beaver was initially going to be called Wally and Beaver but the show’s sponsor thought it sounded like a nature show and asked for the change. The series was created by Bob Mosher and Joe Connelly who worked on the Amos and Andy radio show together in the 1940s.

The replica house that was made for the 1997 Beaver movie is also on the same street. It is still visible on what is now known as Desperate Housewives’ Wisteria Lane. The house still exists at Universal but has since been moved. When the revival series’ production was moved to Florida in 1988, the interior sets made the trip but the facade did not. It was been changed many times over the years but was restored (mostly) for the reunion movie. The Cleavers’ second house (they moved to a different home in Mayfield in season three) is actually a facade and can be found on the Universal Studios backlot in California. ABC picked it up and ran it for five more years. The series ran for one season on CBS before being cancelled. That said, Ward does acquiesce to June and treat her as a partner in raising the boys look past her pearls, dress, heels, and lipstick and you'll find a strong role model, decision maker, and problem solver.The last episode was directed by Beaumont.

The characters are almost uniformly white and well-off, and '50s gender stereotypes are out in full force: Ward works, and June stays home to take care of house and kids. The most obvious objection to Leave It to Beaver is that it represents the less-admirable values of its era along with the good stuff. While older kids may quickly tire of this clichéd family and their predicable plot lines, younger school-aged kids will probably relate to a lot of the storylines and may also enjoy getting a peek at the life in the late '50s - the cars, the dress, even the dialogue. At its core, Leave It to Beaver focuses on issues related to growing up and family relationships. Even today, the latest generation is getting to know and love the Beave, Wally, Eddie Haskell, thanks to syndication. Who doesn't respond to LEAVE IT TO BEAVER?
